How much can one expect to earn after completing the CFA? I came across a web site that compiled compensation statistics here: http://www.cfasalaries.com. What do you think of these numbers? Thanks.
Sounds realistic. More realistic than the salaries CFAI mentions somewhere (200-300K) at least. BUt still a bit on the low side; or maybe thats because i get paid in euro’s and the FX rate improved a lot in the past years.
These numbers really need to be looked at by country, it’s pretty meaningless without it do to the clear differences in salary levels throughout the world.
There are many sites that give information on this subject. Just google “cfa salary”. Your site is remarkably similar to: http://www.ehow.com/about_5491533_cfa-average-salary.html.
With these figures It seems like a nurse makes more than an analyst during their initial years! I compare the academic requirements to that of a doctor, they have step 1,2 and 3 and then rotations, analysts have L1,2 and 3 with 4 years of experience. I was thinking they would be making at least 6 figures!
CFA Total Compensation It is important to note that the quoted CFA salaries constitute base pay only and do not include bonus or profit sharing components. According to the CFA Institute, the average total compensation received by CFA charter holders located in the US was $304,000 as of 2001. Becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst is perhaps one of the most important career decisions that you can make as the CFA Charter has a global presence. It is also a solid resume enhancer and will provide stable long term employment, substantial CFA salaries, and excellent benefits
Yea are these adjusted for purchasing power parity?
Here is a good link for a salary survey that the CFA Society of Seattle has: http://www.cfasociety.org/seattle/Pages/SalarySurvey.aspx
that’s a great summary, SDC. Nice find. I think cfai took down their survey a couple years ago, and I’ve never been able to find it since
the seattle survey doesn’t make sense, how can you be a charterholder w/ one or two years of experience
^texcfa may have a good point.

This site references AF as a helpful resource, so it is clearly the best.
