I just signed in to redo some of the CFAI topic test qbank and there are over 1000 questions now?
*Update, I started skimming through the questions after the original case studies and they appear to be the EOC questions put into the Qbank and are labelled “practice problems” I’ve only gone through 1 section so far can others confirm this is the case? Thnx
So far the sections I’ve gone through the extra questions are just the EOCs… in the fixed income section the Case studies are buried further in the questions so you have to flip through like 40 EOC questions… kind of annoying… Hopefully they put in a filter function to be able to separate case questions and practice problems or create separate qbanks. Oh well… will make due
@PoisonPut You are correct. I logged out and logged in back again and now I can see more questions. I still haven’t started working on the question bank yet, so would not know the issue you are referring to. Hopefully someone could guide.
As far as my understanding goes, CFAI has uploaded CFA L3 curriculum on its portal, something they call learning ecosystem. So all the readings including EOC are now visible in candidate resources.
Yeah I need to take a closer look at this on the computer tomorrow, but my first impression of hearing this is that I’m not a fan.
No offense to CFAI, because I can see the value of creating a larger Qbank on par with the volume of third party providers but with higher quality questions straight from the source… however, this seems like it’s really going to mess up my study process right now when I’m literally mid-study. My process always involves reviewing a reading, tracking how I do on EOCs for each topic so I can identify weak topics, but adding the Qbank ON TOP as another layer of progress tracking and seeing how the questions flow in the real format. This seems like it is just going to mash everything up for me and make it more difficult for me to decipher what I’m doing and what I’m looking at.
It’s always been - study the readings, UTILIZE the BBS and EOCs, AND utilize the CFAI Qbank as another step of the process.
I’m hoping there is a way to filter out the EOCs from the Qbank. I want NEW questions in the Qbank, I’m already utilizing the EOCs as a separate entity.
It is messy now and as pointed out earlier by matt123, i want to be able to filter out topic tests, I would like to keep EOC n Topic Tests separate. I designed my approach to studying according to what the system was before they changed the whole thing. Learning Ecosystem (LES) is NOT more
I have mailed the CFA institute asking them for the facility to filter Topic tests. Let’s see what happens.
@Late-Ranger Did you ever get any reply from CFAI?
I agree having all this EOC questions in the online tool is very confusing, filtering them out would be great and probably not such effort for CFAI to include.
