Does anyone else think the samples are just CFA screwing with your head? I took the first 2 weeks ago and wanted to quit. Then took a few Kaplan tests and the CFAI mock and got some confidence back only to take the 2nd sample a couple days ago and get a 58…and not really sure how I even scored that high…back to Kaplan exam book 2 and I’m in the low 80’s. Anyone else having the same touble on the samples? I felt like I haven’t even started studying while taking these test, but on any other test or EOC questions I feel like I’m where I need to be with a week left.
You have to get familiar with cfai lingo by doing eoc questions
My bet is the CFA mock will be representative, not the samples.
i think the real deal will be somewhere btw sample and mock 2011 …
Samples come from older mocks actually (2011 samples are from 2009 mocks)
He’s talking about the $40 quizs on testrac, not the sample questions
I think his point was that he scores well on schweser. The language they use and how they ask questions is different. Always best to favour cfai vs. Schwesser unless i am mistaken and now schwesser is writing the exam
@Guille_GE Talking about the difference between CFAI Mock and the $40 sample. in the high 70’s on this years Mock and 80’s on last years but in the 50’s on the samples. Do not understand how there can be that big of a swing. Schwesser and CFAI mock seem comparable but the Samples were not even close. Maybe this has to do with the format of taking on the computer and not being able to highlight and make notes but i would think that would be cause for 25 point swings
Samples were ridiculous so i wouldnt put too much weight on them, most people on this boarx tanked them. I also think that cfai knows what the avg. Scores that candiats have and will adjust the actual exam to whatever they think its a suiable level of difficulty
Time to cry again, I’m just about to fill in the answer sheet for Schweser’s online mock exam. The good thing about it is that they’ve got tutorials explaining every question (it consists mostly of “representative questions”) so I plan to watch these explanatory walk-through calculation videos tomorrow.
