that’s not too dissimilar to CvM, after having an ‘o sht i’ve overstepped it’ moment, he changed his region to India and his avatar to an Indian guy… trying to show himself as… not an incredible racist? yea not sure who he was trying to fool
What always amazed me is how much career risk CVM was willing to take with his racist posting activity. All it takes is one co-worker or HR person stumbling upon this website, reading a few posts, and putting 2+2 together to figure out that the meek scrawny nerd in the next cubicle was responsible all these vile inflammatory posts. He would’ve been fired faster than a charcoal grill and blackballed from the industry. In essence, bchad did him a favor by saving him from inevitable self-termination.
Same can be said about majority of posters here. CvM coments went over the line several times, but other posters who are not banned also contributed their share of offensive stuff.
Edit: This was not said to offend anyone, it just my personal opion.
Ohai is an idiot I never knew. How can I be a catalyst? Never came to forum for 3 months. If you think I have multiple accounts then prove it!!If I have multiple ids then I will accept the life ban or the dog look a like will accept the ban… Open challenge. .
The rules are designed for allow for occasional outbursts that are later retracted, assuming they are relatively rare and not too over the top. The concern is not that a bad word or phrase got through unmoderated in a moment of anger or frustration, it’s more about a steady stream of caustic drivel from the same source.
I do think that now that CvM is no longer here, it will be easier to enforce language standards more consitently, so hopefully that will improve now.
I understand the distinction, but that is in the context of measurement. Precise language is language that is both specific and accurate.
If I say dandilion every time I mean lion, I may be precise by your definition above, but no one will understand that I am being precise unless I have specifically explained beforehand that when I say “dandlion,” I mean “gay lion.” Once defined that way, now my language is more precise.
^see now this is the kind of shit i don’t care to read. we get it, you don’t like each other. could you at least try to make it interesting for others to read? maybe it’s a cultural thing, but these kinds of attacks don’t come off as clever.
Gabe and RR’s fuming crosses a lot of lines in my book and I’d like to believe I have a high tolerance for it.
EDIT: a lot of their insulting is just disgusting… idk if that’s common insult practice in india but can’t you insult his mother’s curry cooking abilities instead? Keep it PG-13 an not X-rated
