Hi,
I have seen a lot of job positions lately asking for CMA.
Is it worth it?
It is certified management accountant
LOL
CMA has recently merged with the other accounting bodies in Canada (CA, CGA) to form a new unified designation, the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
Not sure how this applies to you in the U.S.
CMA designation should be relatively easy to achieve vs. the CPA or CFA.
Is it worth it? I don’t know the compensation of the roles you are referring to, but the CMA has relatively low costs of time and money if you qualify. There is always continuing education to consider as well. If you majored in Accounting, you should know all of this.
Worth it compared to doing what? What’s your opportunity cost?
