CMT and its job role ....

I have MBA with finance as major. My reason for not pursuing CFA is my MBA. I think I have overall knowledge of finance. I am now interested in earning a chartered designation and thinking about CMT. What type of job roles can I get after earning the designation?

Check requirements I think you need to be a tactician or in some sort of technical analysis role to even earn it. It’s very niche and not really recognized. More of something extra for someone in trading role already, not a career opener. CFA is the gold standard, going for cmt before cfa is a waste of time imho.

Agreed. CMT is not really well regarded outside of TA practitioners. In general, TA is somewhat suspect of a practice.

TA practitioners = washed out traders who haven’t moved on with the rest of the industry. They still exist because some have reputations and contacts from earlier in their careers. However, things have changed, and now you actually need to have a job purpose to succeed.
