Maybe, but China will probably collapse similarly under it’s own massive debt burden, which continues to grow (household debt exploded by some 30% of GDP in 1Q20 it seems and was already at alarming levels based on different metrics). Moreover, do you really think the Chinese populace won’t start demanding more safety nets similar to the rest of the developed world? China’s own reckoning will come sooner or later.
yep. our govt debt is pretty bad. but ur private debt is crazy bad. but then again. i am pretty sure, china’s earnings will keep rising to justify the private debt levels. also it is far easier to wipe out debt in the private sector than it is at the govt level.

I’ve come to grips with it. There’s like 700 new infections a day now in Canada… mainly due to distancing which I’m being told from my employer will remain in place (at least wfh) until likely the fall.
Funny enough I’m working way more than pre-covid. Can’t get away from the work when it’s in your face at all times. Best be showing up in the year end comp lol. Although I highly doubt that with our most recent earnings. Work more. Pay less. Seems like a good deal.
There was a survey went around to my workgroup of 15 ppl - how many wanted to return to the office if given the choice. A grand total of zero wanted to go back. Despite the workload, there’s something to be said about wfh. It would be a shame if things just returned to normal when this is all said and done.

that would be beautiful. if we can repurpose all these offices and retail stores. i hope they all get screwed.
unemployment at 13%. from 14% in april. leisure and hotels are rehiring as well as construction. will be itneresting to see what happens but i think things will get worse still.
Just had a conf call about WFH the other day. Will most likely continue like this until the end of the year. Company has been impressed by how well everything has worked. God I hope WFH will be the new normal!
