My employer can pay upto £5k for any courses in credit analysis. As the usual choice we have agencies’ courses. I have at least 1 year of credit risk experience. I want to understand better these issues: the relationships within the group companies - guarantees - support - sobrdination, loan documentation, difficult accounting tricks - derivatives - goodwill appraisal, forecasting, cash flow modelling. I do not want to waste the money on an easy course. The city is London. The trick is that I can only attend once, that is, if the course is not good, I will not be able to choose a different one later. I have heard that S&P’s courses are the most advanced, but not I am not sure of that yet. Here is the choice: S&P Qualitative Corporate Credit Risk Analysis 2008-10-14 £1k S&P Quanitative Corporate Credit Risk Analysis 2008-10-15 >£2k S&P also offers Fundamentals of Corporate Credit Risk Analysis, 3 days, but it looks like a beginners course. there is an interesting course: Investigative Credit Analysis in NY Moody’s offeres that one Corporate Credit & Cash Flow Analysis http://www.moodys.com/cust/event/getdocument.aspx?docid=4500000000897&event=4400000000793 looks to be comprehensive, but again, I have more doubts about Moody’s. I have found interesting courses at Fitch: Intensive Corporate Credit http://www.fitchtraining.com/fitchtraining/course/show_course.xsql?COURSE=7 Advanced Corporate Credit http://www.fitchtraining.com/fitchtraining/course/show_course.xsql?COURSE=26 Capital Structures: Impact on Credit Worthiness http://www.fitchtraining.com/fitchtraining/course/show_course.xsql?COURSE=415 they are in NY, but in pounds they are cheap. Intensive Corporate Credit is also offered in London, twice more expensive though. Fitch also offers Early Warning Signals: Masterclass in London: http://www.fitchtraining.com/fitchtraining/course/show_course.xsql?COURSE=8&COURSE_LOCATION=1 The question is - how to build my course schedule in the most efficient way. That is, to spent £5k choosing the best courses available. From the whole list I liked that one: Advanced Corporate Credit. Who has attended that one, what are your impressions?
I’d rather spend money on a AAA CPDO than on credit lessons from a rating agency.
