Daytrip to Philly--any suggestions for sights and food?

Yeah, they didn’t look too far apart on the map but the stupid map only showed major streets, not all the minor ones that came in between, so we were fooled into thinking there weren’t that many blocks to walk. What parts of the city are dangerous? We walked from 40th and Walnut all the way down Walnut to 9th St., then walked south on 9th through a couple dozen blocks worth of street fair and then ended up at 9th and Passyunk. UPenn was whack with security, couldn’t get into anything without ID so just wandered around campus. Saw that Eric Schmidt was the commencement speaker at one of the graduations.

Hah I lived on 40th and walnut for 2 years. Anything south of there gets a little hairy… and if you had taken a more direct route than going straight down walnut you might have seen some of the shady shady areas. yeah Schmidt spoke in the morning I think… wonder if they paid him to come. My year was a disaster with Jodie Foster trying to quote eminem as guiding wisdom…
