Derivatives - How much time?

Just want to know , How much time should it take to :-

  1. To Understand all concepts

  2. To do only the practise question given in the end of the chapter in the curriculum.( Not from the other sources)

At least 20 – 30 minutes.

Just like any other things in life, it depends.

It depends on:

  1. your interest,

  2. your experience,

  3. your mathematical intuition.

Don’t think too little of the derivative section. The way I look at it is that it is the fundamental block of modern financial theory. You will have an easier (and more enjoyable) time as you move higher in your CFA journey.

Definitely spend sometimes understanding the materials and not just memorizing the payoff chart. That will only take you so far in the program.
