i had my interview at one of big4 this tuesday.it was a technical round taken by 2 managers.at the end of it they told me that they would let me know till tommorow if i was through and it would be followed by a HR round. they called on tuesday evening itself and said i had cleared the technical round and the HR guy would call soon for the telephonic interview. today morning i.e thurday i got a call from a girl and she said “hey am i speaking to mr. xyz”- she was inaudible so i asked her to repeat,seemed like there was network problems that rendered her inaudible,i tried to hear her for like 40 seconds but then i disconnected the phone and called back,no1 picked up the phone,i have called back 8-10 times today but no1 picks up the phone. i highly suspect that it was the HR guy. is it possibly she took it as a sign of disrespect and might fail me without interview?? from what i have heard of others,HR round is a mere formality and once the managers pass u,then ur in.

Was this interview for a position in the Thailand office?
If you have any contact info from the people from your prior day of interviewing you should contact them and explain.
shouldnt be an issue. they should really have told you the date and time they were gonna call so you could be somewhere available with good signal. Doesnt sound like your fault.
You called 8-10times… that sounds like a lot! Chill and call her tomorrow or contact the techinical guys, or the people that you made intial contact with…
how bout u aks the duders interviewing you for the HR person contact and email her.

If no one picks up the phone, I doubt it was HR or anyone else at a Big 4. More likely the call was a phishing scam totally unrelated to the job.

I don’t think HR has power in deciding who to hire once you pass the manager interview. Nothing to be worried about.
I always feel like HR uses a phone they’ve placed under a pillow.
Perhaps the HR mistook your application for another person’s application, or for an application that you submitted last year. They are behaving like this because they do not want to admit their mistake. The correct course of action would be to email their CEO 36 times to resolve this issue.

i have never received phishing or telemarketting calls on my phone

Not true at all. My dad used to be in big 4 HR. The HR manager has final say. He takes into account the comments and what the technical interviewers say, but ultimately it’s his final call.
Then I am not sure what you mean by Big4…
No one gave you a card? Can’t find them on the company’s website?
