just out of interest, what edge does Yahoo have these days? What do people go to yahoo for?
I’m not criticizing it, I’m just curious since I haven’t used Yahoo in about a decade. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve noticed a few people posting news stories from there, is there news feed particularly good or something?
I like their interactive charts, but that’s about it
I always check the homepage of yahoo. It confirms my fears.
I have noticed they take a lot of stories from Reddit!
But I go to Yahoo sometimes when I’m bored and I want to read about something interesting. They always have news feeds that are either trending or interesting and that differentiates them some. The only thing I like to do on Yahoo is scroll through their news articles on the homepage.
There’s sports news. Also, trashy gossip news. I sometimes go for the latter…
You know what els sux. Hotmail swithing to Outlook.
What do you mean? You mean using Outlook as an email client to access the contents of your Hotmail account. Sorry, not following.
I only used hotmail for ‘live porn feeds’. Over 13 years ago.
Shit! I’d not heard of this.
Probably a good thing though. I’m still on hotmail and it’s pretty rubbish, so probably a good thing that I’ll finally be forced to move away. Then again, I barely use email anymore, most =communication that’s not via work email is either Facebook or LinkedIn these days. The only people I email are usually people like my dad who don’t have facebook.
Let’s fight this clever. If I wanted an email with a 2013 feel to it, I would sign up with gmail. Hotmail has the old school feel to it. I work with outlook already at work.
Agreed FT, we need to form a resistance group. I also like it old school, but my main issue is that I still have some 93,000 unread emails in my inbox I’ll need to get through before d-day.
All my friends/ coworkers use yahoo for fantasy football
i still get the occasional spam mail from live video strippers.
+1
the only thing good about yahoo are the article comments. you do get some funny laughs from there
And the message boards discussing stocks.
I have Yahoo as my home page, purely out of inertia. And yes, the new home page blows donkey dong.
You’d think websites would know by now that change is not good. Ask Digg…
