I wanted to make a survey to find out how many of you guys, especially from a financial background and working in the financial sectors find CFA exams. Do you find it very hard? I am asking that since I am from a non financial background.
It’s tricky, too much info to master, limited time to answer, 6 hour exam. That makes it hard. For me the questions are not a problem if you had more time to answer, but again there is about 10 % of the questions which are difficult. There is a Stalla survey I guess where they analize the difficulty of questions, and most of them are about key concepts, but again it’s too much info to retain at once. That’s my opinion.
It wasn’t hard at all. Never was I confused. Its just volume. You need to put in the hours to MEMORIZE everything. If you took high school calculus then nothing about this should be difficult. Just put in those hours and keep that discipline!
1 out of 4 people who sign up pass it…
no, i wouldnt say the material is too hard. , but it takes a lot of friggin studying. also, the more math or finance background you have, the easier it is to pass level 1. i can only talk for level one since i have only passed that level. for the first time in my life i actually wrote down every hour of studying i did and logged over 300 hours. this is on top of just having passed the cfp which has a lot of overlap with level one. there are no shortcuts in this exam unless you are one of those smart gifted folk.
and LII is twice as hard and nowadays LIII is harder than that.
Great…Nice future ahead

It’s more difficult than the GMAT but way easier than being a good husband and a father.
… or lover
It gets easier with time the more time you put in the easier you get. Like anything even Rocket Science someone had to start from somewhere. The difference between passing and failing is effort - no effort you fail, put in real effort you have a great chance of passing. If you pass without any effort - why you studying CFA you should have made your millions on the markets by now!!
