I am hearing contradictory info on the actual CAIA exam. Few said that MCQ was straight forward and few said that it was a test of reading comprehension. Can someone throw some light on it please. And what about the Essays? Were they straight forward and did you guys think that you had enough time to do them all? Cheers DD
There was an unexpected difficult in the essay part that applies to those candidates who do not come from English speaking countries. I’m not talking about the language but the testing software. In many countries the keyboard layout is slightly different (in addition to my country, at least France and Germany come to mind). In the test, we had the local keyboard but the system was set up using the US layout. This means that when you need some characters (+,-,=,",?,’, etc) you will not find them in those buttons. We were provided a sheet of paper that showed what you need to key in to get the desired character. For example, if you want apostrophe (’), you need to push Shift+9, for hyphen you need to key in Shift+# etc. I found this a bit discriminating.
I had 30 minutes at the end of each test to review.
The force is with you jcrick… I on the other hand may have to comeback in September
