I failed L1 December 2011 and need to register for the June 2012 L1 exam.
Since I already have the curriculum, I was thinking if I could avoid paying for the curriculum (something I do not need) again and save myself like $190.
Is it possible to register for L1 again without ordering the curriculum? How can I do that since I do not get any option of skipping the buying step?
I think you should get it, there has been some changes in the curriculum, the whole economics part wwas rewritten. I dont think that you can avoid that step of buying it. I think it is a must while registering that you buy it.
Yup, you have to buy it. The only time you can opt out is when you fail June and retake in December. The curriculum changes each year so they make you buy the current additions of the books.
Agreed with cfa222. You will be forced to get the CFA curriculum books. In addition, if you had referred to any prep provider notes, they will have an updated version for the June (and Dec) 2012 exams. You might want to check if the LOSes have changed significantly from last year, and if you want to refer to prep provider material, get that too. FinQuiz posts a comparison of the LOSes every year; there will be a thread on this forum as well, most likely, if you search.
