Equity Research Career Advice Needed

I am looking for honest (be as harsh as you want as long as its realistic) advice on how I can transition into an equity research role.

I am 24 years old w/ an undergrad in Economics from a top Canadian university. I just passed CFA Level 3 and currently I am working as an investment representative for an investment advisor with $500mil+ AUM. The pay is decent (just over 70K) but the work is mind-numbing and does not challenge me intellectually. I could transition into the investment/financial advisor role but that is a sales job and not what interests me.

I am starting to apply to positions as a junior analyst but realistically would I even be considered for the role w/ my background?

Any feedback is appreciated. Thx

what do you do as an “investment representative”?

Yes. Read the articles in my signature for some guidance.
