While solving questions in ethics, I get a bit confused, in case of a brokerage firm or a research house invites an analyst to a conference with booking his flight tickets and accommodation. Some examples states that it is ethical to accept the invitation and others state that the analyst should pay for his own expenses. I’m missing something, so can anyone give me a clear cut on that?
In ethics, there is no clear cut . One word or letter can make difference of violation or no violation.
If it is easily accessible, not in a remote location or difficult to arrange beyond reasonable effort, the analyst should NOT accept paid expenses from a company he/she is visiting if it is a current or potential one to be covered.
That is a helpful differnetiation, thanks!
