Planning to study Ethics from Schwesers instead of CFAI.

Why choose schweser over CFAI on a CFA staple item?
Time constraint.
I have a demanding job… almost 10-11 hours at job and commute takes almost 1 hour 45 minutes one way. Also some of the weekends are fully occupied with support.
I don’t want to start something I cannot finish later.
For Ethics I don’t mind CFA but so far schweser has worked for other things.
I used CFA material in past for Ethics and its not like I mastered it. I feel I could have done same with Schweser.
Have you been reading everything from CFAI?
Will you be taking time off from work before the exam? Probably worthwhile to allocate some time to CFAI readings, it can’t possibly be much longer to read through compared to schweser.
Im still working through schweser material but I plan to go through the CFA text to firm up my weaker areas.
Ethics is actually the only topic that I would use the curriculum for. Too many grey areas.
Ethics is the one area for which I always tell my candidates to read the CFA Institute curriculum.
They do a good job on Ethics.
Skip something else, you know Ethics will have 6 questions. Read the applications of the standards at the very least. Ethics is my one consisent high scoring area, if you normally do well, don’t let it get rusty. Too risky to take short cuts here.
The funny thing about Ethics is that even if you were allowed to bring the books to the test center, you’d still be unsure if your answer is right.
As above…my interpretation of L3 ethics over L1 &2 is that of the multiple choices offered, there is;
(a) an answer CFAI are looking for,
(b) distinctly plausible…
and
© not quite right option.
Even if you think you know the material well, there is not necessarily an obvious answer as was often the case with L1 &2.
(The above does not imply that option a is always the right answer on the exam!)
