Fantasy Football for dummies

I’m spending half day on AF to understand the ways to upgrade my roster. Hope that is worth some points!

Evaluate this trade:

RB LeSean McCoy for TE Julius Thomas and WR Reggie Wayne

Team getting thomas and Wayne currently has TE Greg Olsen and WR Alshon Jeffery, Pierre Garcon, and Greg Jennings; team getting LeSean McCoy currently has RB Marshawn Lynch, Jerick McKinnon, Knile Davis, Jeremy Hill, and Mark Ingram.

Is this trade good for both teams? Who makes out better here?

In general I’m going to say bad trade, only because that puts 6 RB’s on that dude’s team. McKinnon, Davis and Hill are all long shots with volatile scoring week to week, there’s no way he needs that many RB’s.

The team getting Thomas hopefully has a few other good RB’s. Jennings is a bench player at best, so having Wayne/Jeffery/Garcon is a decent WR core. I’d say this team wins the trade, provided they have 2 good RB’s to fill in for McCoy.

Very seldom does a 2 for 1 trade benefit the one receiving 2 players mainly because the best player in the trade is the 1 player going the other side.

So my playoffs are starting this week. I went from 2-5 to winning 7 straight. My guys have been on fire the past 2 months (Hilton, Sanders, Big Ben, Forsett) and I have this strange feeling most of them will fall back to reality this week, at the exact moment I need them to outperform the most.

^ I wish I had your problem. My fantasy squad would not even have been in contention in the NFC South this year.

I had the misfortune of going up against the 5th seed in our AF fantasy league despite being the # 1 seed. (#2 seed ended up facing #6 seed) and I got destroyed thanks to Mr Rodgers and his butterfingers BFF Jordy Nelson. Sad watching a 11-2 season go to waste like this over one bad week. I think next year I will suggest the idea of having a 2 week playoff for the first round. Many leagues have implemented this rule so that guys with strong teams aren’t disadvantaged by an off week fantasy performance…

I still might end up scoring the lowest of the 4 teams in the semis so I don’t think the outcome would’ve been different.

Anyone else hear about the fags tossing salad at the tailgate party outside of Ford Field yesterday?

Further evidence that the Lions continue to suck ass.

I had one of my least productive fantasy weeks (as I expected) but luckily it seems like scores were low overall which helped me. I’m up by 15pts with Graham going tonight while my opponent has Bennett. Lucky because my opponent had Charles, Luck, Cobb, Smith Sr and they didnt do much.

just lost championship by .7

^ hope for stat correction

Congrats to all the winners in the AF Fantasy Football league this season. Payouts have been allocated to the winners (1st-3rd places and most points in regular season) on www.leaguesafe.com.

Ouch.

I was down by 22 pts in my championship game before yesterday’s MNF but still had AJ Green, CJ Anderson and Sanders while my opponent had Julius Thomas. At halftime, I was down by 20 and came to the realization that AJ was simply being used as a decoy. I thought I was done. Then in a 10 minute stretch in the 3rd quarter, 1 TD from Anderson and 2 from Sanders and all of a sudden I took the lead for good.
