Feeling stuck at current job--how to look for exit opportunities?

Hey everyone,

I am working as an investment performance analyst at a consulting firm. My job at the moment is not bad–low stress, log 40 hours but actually work at most 30 hours a week. However, I am not really learning anything or getting forward with the company. Here is where I need some advice:

  1. I am a math major, and I don’t have the scripting/programming skills to do anything computation heavy. I also don’t know enough about accounting, valuation, finance, etc. to really excel at an analyst position. How do I know what kind of finance position I should pursue?
  2. Once I decide on a path, what’s the best way to go about getting a job in said position? Right now, I’m studying for CFA level 1 and taking a few intermediate accounting courses, figured they might be useful for something.

Thank you

Since you have strong math background, you should probably learn some coding and look for more quantitative jobs if you are interested in that kind of stuff. This would be the most sensible approach imo.
