Hey everyone,
I am working as an investment performance analyst at a consulting firm. My job at the moment is not bad–low stress, log 40 hours but actually work at most 30 hours a week. However, I am not really learning anything or getting forward with the company. Here is where I need some advice:
- I am a math major, and I don’t have the scripting/programming skills to do anything computation heavy. I also don’t know enough about accounting, valuation, finance, etc. to really excel at an analyst position. How do I know what kind of finance position I should pursue?
- Once I decide on a path, what’s the best way to go about getting a job in said position? Right now, I’m studying for CFA level 1 and taking a few intermediate accounting courses, figured they might be useful for something.
Thank you
