I remember in high school the biggest dweeb in our class was some guy who was in the military for a couple years and then came back and tried to act all army and sh!t.

All I gotta say is if Lebron James walked into his first day of practice wearing a d0ucheb@g suit it doesn’t matter how bad@ss he thought of himself as, he’s going to be the team dork. You’ve pretty much sealed your own fate.

don’t wear a shirt with cuff links. nuff said I say sportscoat sans tie

I think a suit is fine for your first day. I’ve found that in sell side equity research even if the dress code is business casual, people dress up for client and management meetings. So that means there should be a few other guys wearing a suit and tie around the office.

Where are you all working at to think that a suit = dork ? Besides, who’s gonna blame the kid for wanting to make a good impression on the first day ? This is finance, not game programming. wtf.

I would go sharp suit, crisp white shirt, no tie. That is very smart casuak. Think and act like James Bond. Impress the girls at reception & stir the office up a bit. The end result should be that the boys want to be you and the girls want to do you.

Hey JRado, First off THANK YOU for your service to our country. I know 0311 is Infantry Rifle Man, and I believe 0331 was a Weapons Platoon MG, so you are not a tiny dude. I would wear a suit as its your first day and everyone knows it. I would not return the 2nd day in a suit though and like you said you can alwasy take the tie and jacket off during lunch or after you are settled in. People should already have respect for you, 1 for getting the job and 2 for serving our country. Thanks again from a brother of an 0311 Grunt (who just finished is 8 years also).
