Formal Credit Training

Anyone had this? What exactly does it entail? I passed the Omega Performance course, does that count for something?

Depends on which Omega Courses you passed related to Credit. They have a Comprehensive Credit Boot Camp that takes you from Origination through Portfolio Management (usually a week long course). That is what the Associates go through over here. From personal experience, I have seen a lot more emphasis given to experience Vs. courses although preferrence is given to a candidate with courses and no experience vs. courses with experience (pretty much common sense).

Salz, thanks for the info. What type of bank are you at? I took the Omega Commercial Loans to Small Business course through my bank (regional commercial and consumer, $5B in revenue). It had several weeks of material. They don’t offer their own home grown course. I’m looking through some jobs right now and I’m wondering if CLSB counts as “formal credit training”, which seems to be a requirement.

I would venture to say yes, just frame it as part of your banks development program…

Thanks peeps

Yes CLSB would be considered formal credit training.
