FRM P2

Anyone use Bionic Turtle? Do they give you a consolidated version of the notes, or just individual PDFs of topics.

I like printed/physical notes so will it be a pain to print them all off?

I am using Bionic Turtle for FRM part 1 in November and the way they organise their material is through their “Study Planner” where each topic is split up into many different PDFs, all of which you have to click through to individually…it was a real pain in the ass to click through everything, download and transfer to DropBox so that I can syudy on the move.

If the part 2 material is organised in the same way, it’s also gonna be a real pain in the ass for you to go through and print everything off.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. In retrospect, would you still use BT?

Yeah long story short, I most likely would use BT again. In all honesty I am not exactly bowled over by their study notes or their videos (I bought the middle level package)…I find them far too brief and “high level” without really offering the nitty gritty behind the concepts etc.

What I think they are good for is review after a comprehensive run through the GARP curriculum. The way the GARP material is written, it makes it very difficult to do a complete 2nd run through without getting bogged down in all the minutae again. So using the BT notes and videos once you have already dug down into the material would definitely reap benefits.

The one thing I am finding invaluable with BT is the amount of practice questions they provide. There are enough to keep you going throughout the whole study period and allow you to really cement the finer points of the formulae and concepts as you go along. They can of course be supplemented with the offical GARP practice papers but I have heard they may not be fully representative of exam difficulty. I have neither taken an FRM exam nor done any of the practice papers yet so can’t comment on this.

So yeah the TLDR version is BT offer enough practice questions to make it worth the cash.
