I’d still recommend watching them from the beginning. The first three seasons, as best as I can recall, were pretty close to the books. Now everything is messed up.
Regarding Drogon’s apparent vulnerability, it’s just because he’s not fully grown yet. The books get to go into more detail, but essentially Drogon’s hide/plates haven’t fully hardened yet. Once a dragon reaches adulthood, spears would just bounce off them. In the book, Drogon takes about a similar amount of damage. I think it was GRRM’s way of telling the readers the dragons aren’t ready for full-on war yet.

So what’s the deal with the cripple in Dorne? Aren’t all 7 kingdoms supposed to yearn for the iron throne but Dorne seems to be uninterested…

This has been hard for show-only people. It doesn’t help that 90% of the Dorne scenes suck either. But, the last episode finally gave some hint of who Doran Martell is and what he’s about. He’s in it for the long-term. Without spoiling anything, remember that Doran’s sister was married to Rhaegar (and killed by the Lannisters) so Dorne has close ties to the Targs. Dorne itself has always been content to stay in their own country, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an interest in who sits on the Iron Throne.

Margery is more traditionally my type, as is Nymeria Sand, but Melisandre is disturbingly sexy. She has that innocent look of true believers, yet a dark and wicked side that suggests she knows to have fun when the lights are low.
As for Drogon and spears, that makes sense. I was wondering if it was just because they’re not yet mature (hence the comment about “recently molted”).

At this point, I don’t really care if the White Walkers / Others breech the wall and come swarming through.
One bit of hope is that Melissandre enters Castle Black just before the final scene happens. Perhaps she does something.
Also what happened to Stannis was not entirely implausible, but I wasn’t really expecting it.

My thoughts too. I was so angry after seeing what they did to Jon. It must be a good show to pull at emotional strings so hard.
