GDP, GNI and NNI

Read the schweser and it says GDP + net property income from abroad = GNI Maybe I am being picky, but isn’t true that GDP includes non-citizen incomes, but GNI does NOT include non-citizen incomes? Should this equation be GDP + net property income from abroad - net income from non-citizen incomes = GNI Thanks!

Really! It should have been GNI = GDP + NI from abroad - NI from non-citizens. I dunno why they count the NI from non-citizens into the GNI calculations. Any help?

Straight from the UN website: http://unstats.un.org/unsd/snaama/glossResults.asp?Id=8 Gross national income (GNI) == Definition Gross national income (GNI) is GDP less net taxes on production and imports, less compensation of employees and property income payable to the rest of the world plus the corresponding items receivable from the rest of the world (in other words, GDP less primary incomes payable to non-resident units plus primary incomes receivable from non-resident units). An alternative approach to measuring GNI at market prices is as the aggregate value of the balances of gross primary incomes for all sectors; (note that gross national income is identical to gross national product (GNP) as previously used in national accounts) So ideally, it should be the formula you mentioned GNI = GDP + NI from abroad - NI from non-citizens

NI from abroad - NI from non-citizens isn’t it the net property income from abroad?

Great catch map. Thanks!
