The other day a guy who usually asks for my assistance in the gym with heavy weights offered me a job in his firm in the marketing section of his firm,I know he is the kind of person who transforms others via mentoring and quality work ethics &standards.
Here is the question now,in your career you always pick two skills, general and those belonging to your particular job.Any suggestions on which is more important ?I always believe the latter is far more easier to aquire where as the first one brings a maturity in your life.Any Ideas ? If you all agree with me ,I think its important to build a generalist foundation and then move on to building a certain special skill (financial analysis,PM,Marketing, etc)
Specific technical skills are more important early on in your career as you’re focused on tasks. But people skills become more important later on as you focus on leadership.
Is this actually a thing? I don’t understand limiting it to two things or why you have to delineate between general and specialized. Why not just concentrating on kicking ass and see where it gets you?
