I was wondering if we have to memorize the GIPS Glossary. It is not marked as optional, however, I wasn’t sure if it was mandatory reading.
It covers pages 236-245 in the 2015 CFA Book 1.
Optional means just that: you don’t have to memorize it.

My mistake: I misread your original post.
It wouldn’t be tested directly (“What’s the definition of a composite?”), but you’d be expected to know what the terms mean if they’re used in a question (e.g., they won’t define a domposite for you in the question).
