What portion of GIPS do we need to study for the Level 1 exam. Is it just the Introduction and Compliance sections or the complete text listed on the CFAI book #1

I was asking myself the same, i asked a friend who is Chartholder and he told me what is optional is optional so i guess there will be no questions regarding optional part during exam

Thanks. Do you know if this is mentioned somewhere in the CFAI book or the latest Schwescher material. I am studying from the 2015 edition unfortunately.

Looking for some help with the GIPS reading. Can anyone please clarify what portion of GIPS is to appear on CFA Level 1 exam scheduled for Dec 3rd, 2016.

The mandatory chapters are tested. Optional readings / parts are just info for your education building, won’t be tested. In other words, you must study everything except the optional parts, those are up to you.
