Guess the income

I think you are referring to other peoples’ posts. I’ve never pointed out that NYC is a particularly rich area, nor have I suggested that all people at Bulge Bracket companies get paid more than all people at other companies. Some people at large banks get paid a lot of money, and some get paid very little money. Some people in finance in NYC get paid a lot of money and some don’t, out of meritocracy or whatever. I can say for certain that the starting salary at my floor is some $20k higher than all the numbers that you have cited in the past. Outside of that, the range obviously varies wildly based on location, job function, and qualifications. Obviously your perception of normal is different from that of many people here. That would also be caused by differences in location, job function, qualifications or some combination thereof.

One billion dollars!

We should lobby to have Chad make this a sticky post at the top of the forum.

100k salary 350k bonus

will you tell us the number? Or just stop wasting everybody’s time here.

Salary + bonus = 75 - 85

graduated making 40-55k w/ 0-10% bonus so 45k base first year. 2 promotions of 10% each and 7 years of 4% raises. prob up to 30% bonus now but since we all know bonus season bombed lets give him a 10% bonus so roughly 70k and 0-10k bonus. So bonus prob around 5k. 75k all-in.

Salary 85 Bonus 15-20

100 base + 50 bonus

I would love to make 80k+ so what are the details of the job? are they hiring? i’m guessing reporting on the positioning of the portfolio, daily p/l, trade log, pricing?

Right, fairly low by everyone on AF’s standards

Price is Right, here I come!

Not sure what your trying to show here. That people on AF lie about salaries (welcome to the internets…) or that they have unreasonable expections/impressions about what people make? I’d rather make 60 and live someplace west of Virginia than 80 in NYC.

Why does this dude have such a hardon for this subject? Obviously you can cherrypick to prove a point. I bet there is someone on a desk out west that makes 60k after working for 8 years. Probably someone’s relative like that cowboy slots manager in Casino
