Do buy side firms usually hire research analysts whom they have to sponsor for H1B visa?I want to stay in the U.S. after Opt,so i need to adjust my career path to the areas in which i will have the most chance to be sponsored.
Those guys will sponsor H1Bs, but your chance of getting that is slim at best. The BBs usually hire almost all of their analysts from summer internships (and you probably get the employment visa taken care of via CPT/OPT). Smaller firms often don’t even understand the issues with foreign people and when they find out about the issues, they’re not interested.
I don’t want to rain on your parade, but I’m on an H1B right now and I couldn’t find any company besides a Big 4 acct firm that was willing to sponsor a work visa for me. My biggest recommendation is look at companies that are headquartered abroad but have big US operations. They will have experience with all sorts of sponsorship issues thanks to moving people back and forth.
Really appreciate for your responds.Large institutions usually come to our school to hire summer interns. However, they do it by December although the intern starts on June. What do recommend me to boost my resume up in 5 months?I made some researches and figure out that i need to learn financial modeling, report writing, matlab and read wall street, financial times regularly. What is your point?
Well you can’t find buy side research analyst jobs in Big 4 accounting firms…because its not what they do. Also its going to be tough to do an internship the summer after you graduate. Most big firms only hire people for those jobs who are between their 3rd and 4th years.
The U.S. companies exist all over the world, employees from all nations are hired in the U.S. as well. Therefore it is a win-win situation. The world is much more global than ever right now.You should try getting accustomed to it.
