I cant remember from last year, do they allow hats?
I was wondering the same thing. For some reason, I dont think they do.
I saw them on last year. Some were even flat billed hats.
Yea they do. But I highly recommend NOT wearing one. I had my hat inspected at least 4 times during the exam by 4 different proctors…it was extremely annoying.
How I’m rollin’ to the exam center. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1341/687372287_647badf00e.jpg?v=0 Straight up gangsta b!tch!
I wore a hat last year along with jeans and a t-shirt. I sat next to a guy in a suit. I laughed at him. The hat thing was cool. I felt bad for the proctor inspecting my dirty hat. What a ****** job.
If you’re wearing jeans and a t-shirt, then you don’t have the right to laugh at anyone who dress better than you. In fact you should be the one who is laught at.
I wonder if this thread will be moved to “General Discussion”.
“Laught”…!!!
My god.
But to answer (question?) the OP: why even bother? Like another poster said, seems like you’re just going to attract extra attention by wearing one.

Perhaps he hasn’t come to terms with his MPB.
yeah hats are allowed, but don’t wear a banana costume, they get really pissed about those for some reason
I disagree - t-shirt and jeans is the way forward… you gotta be comfortable… The guy next to me was also wearing a suit… I said to him “You know the difference between you and me… I make this look good”
Standard test taking attire: Trackies (sweat pants), a comfy jumper (sweater/hoodie) & comfy shoes.
I’ve worn my hat both levels and haven’t had any issues whatsoever. I ever asked about it. It’s more so don’t flip it around back n forth or make movements as if you are making signals to another test taker.

You just described every Armenian in my neighborhood, this Fall.

yes allowed. but don’t make fidgeting motions while wearing it. you could get written up, as someone actually was reported
i was made to put mine under the desk.
Yeah, hats are allowed, but this is the first year I overheard a proctor question it…but there is not a “hat policy” specifically mentioned in the CFA exam guidelines. I imagine CFAI chooses to remain silent on the subject because it could be a PC issue… I need a hat to keep my bald spot warm in mostly frigid exam conditions, so I was ready to stand my ground if asked to remove it!
The guy in front of me was told it needed to be either on his head or under his desk at all times. I’m getting scared hearing about all these fidgeting investigations. I was possibly somewhat fidgety, is that a common thing to get written up for?
