I have been applying for internship recently, and so far I received 2 pending offer. I think it is time for me to make a decision. The first one is working as a technical developer. A little bit technical. They would require me to learn programming language such as C++ and Linux to help writing out some 3000+ lines codes for our users to use. And most importantly it is unpaid! The second one is working as a Finance intern in a contact lens company called Norvatis. Mainly, I have to involve in preparing slides and materials for Finance Literacy Program. And other job scopes include financial budgeting and forecasting and data analysis. And of course, the job comes with salary. My major is not Finance. But I am interested in becoming a financial analyst in stock market and hedge fund. I am not sure if job profile of both jobs will be helpful for me in the right track. How does it really look like to have a finance job in a manufacturing company? And is C++ and Linux programming language useful for being a financial analyst? I am completely in a dilemma. I need some advices over this. Which job should I choose for my internship?
Are you talking about Novartis (not Norvatis)? If yes, they are a lot more than a “contact lens company.” One of the largest healthcare/pharma companies in the world with a market cap of more than $200B. Take that into consideration for your resume.
Hi Kan-yeezy, ya, it should be Novartis. Strictly speaking, I am working under eye care unit of Novartis, called Ciba Vision. I am not sure if it is a right place for me if I want to become a financial analyst. Do you have any knowledge or experience about a finance position in a manufacturing company?
Isnt English the official language in Singapore? If so, then this guy sounds borderline ri-tarded
