holding company on resume

I work for company x which just divested into company x and company y. Do I put the name of the holding company on my resume and after, in parenthesis (dba x, y) or put company x, y on resume witholding the name of the holding company? issue is that holding company will not be recognized while company x and y will be

If the holding company is less recognizeable, don’t use it. The goal isn’t to be unswervingly technically correct, the goal is to give them the best understanding of your background. If you the x&y level data is more familiar then use that.
