In a situation where my girlfriend lives about 90 miles from me. I go out there maybe twice a week. It is tiring sometime but I think she’s worth it. Have any of you had a long distance relationship like this before? How did you manage?
My first proper GF ever, many many years back didnt live 90 miles from me, but used to take 45 mins maybe to get there due to the traffic and no freeways in the big city i lived in. Plus her father was a devout catholic, so she couldnt stay there and I had to drive her back to my parents place or wherever we went. AND, i should add she was a virgin so wouldnt give sex for the first few months and id still do this. However, she gave the best blow jobs I have ever had, damn i miss them.

I used to have a GF that lived 60-90 minute drive depending on traffic and she didn’t drive, so I was always the one commuting. It was worth it for a few months but just became too tiring. Even nodded off at the wheel a couple of times when it wasn’t possible to stay over. Never had an accident fortunately, but the Barenaked Ladies song “Tonight Is The Night I Fell Asleep At The Wheel” holds a special significance to me.
For awhile an ex was ~5 hours from me and I made the drive most weekends while balancing CFA studying and work. In hindsight, not sure I’d do it again. I also would like to vote for the motion to do the opposite of whatever advice transfer gives you.
I used to fly five hours back and forth every month for a chick during a year. I ended up broke has hell, but was hipnotized by her rack. The kind of mellons you’d never forget. Just perfect. The pounding was beyond imagination.
Personally, I love long distance relationships, but that’s because I only really want a girlfriend when I go on vacations or when I feel like visiting her. I know guys who have lived overseas from the wives/girlfriends for years. You see them around the holidays and its great. You get to keep your space and sanity.
I doubt I’d drive any more than an hour in any normal case. If she was smoking hot, had excellent ‘skills’ or was just awesome I’d increase it though I guess.
I did long distance - New Zealand to Florida for one year. We saw each other twice during that period. We then did Fort Lauderdale to Tampa (about 4 hours drive). We saw each other once a week during that period. We then lived in the same city and have been married for four years. It takes work, but it can be done. Webcam was great as well as phone “you know”.
