This also begs the question–how often do you get your hair cut?
Higgs may only pay $15, but he might get his hair cut once a week. Itera can afford a $100 haircut, but he only gets it cut/permed/styled/dried every six months.
Me? I pay $15 per cut (tip included), and get it cut every 2-3 weeks. I know that I should probably get it cut every week for a more professional look, but 2-3 weeks seems to work for me.
The real question should also ask for haircut times per year and thus annual haircut spending. For me, 12 haircuts a year at $20 per haircut, a $240 annual haircut spend.
I go to the strip mall joints with TV’s showing sports and a junior college dropout cutting hair. Cut, shampoo, a shitty neck massage and a hot towel on the face. Usually runs $18-$22 and then I tip $7 or $8.
Shaved it off.I hate the comb over shit , those guys dont fake it till they make it IMO.Not be racist but the comb over is popular in indians from what I have seen.
I go about once every 6 weeks. A little less frequently in winter. I usually notice if my sideburns are getting too unwieldy or it gets hard to comb it right.
Reading this thread reminds me of the times when a barber used a straight edged razor on the back of my neck, and the nice warm shaving cream. I miss that, and haven’t had that in ages.
As for tipping, since I go to the same place regularly, I like them to treat me well and make an effort. If they know I tip, and other people don’t, I feel it makes them try a little harder to keep me pleased.
always go to a barber if you are a male. Fantastic Sam’s, Great Clips, and SuperCuts are hacksaw and the people who cut hair at these places are beauticians.
So does your hair grow over your ears? I can’t stand it when my hair starts touching the top of my ears.
It never used to bother me to have long-ish hair. (Not quite the Beatles look, but close.) But since I joined the Marines, I can’t stand having hair on the back of my neck or my ears. I’d go back to a high-and-tight if I didn’t look like a retard. (A fat guy with a big head sporting a military haircut just looks like a dumbass.)
So true. Always went to those types of places when I was younger as my mother would just drop me off there. Finally went ot a real barber a few years ago and never looked back. A real trained barber makes your hair look 10x better than someone who works at a SuperCuts etc.
In junior high, my parents used to drop me off at super cuts, and god it was awful. My parents usually never gave a damn about me, but they were like wtf happened, when my haircut was done
