If I pass CFA Level 1 - do I have to take the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)?

Here in Canada we have this required course that is basically a dumbed down version of CFA level 1 but costs the exact same and it expires after 3 years. This course is required to sell mutual funds, so if I want to be a financial advisor or rep, I need to have it.

my question: Is the CFA level 1 a substitute to this course? Do I have to take it if I pass cfa level 1?

CFA is no replacement for the licenses required by regulatory bodies, such as Series 7, Series 66… I assume the same for Canada.

CFA gives you a few credits on CFP but they still make you do their courses as well!
