the pharma/biotech world has been searing hot , and continues to be. I daresay even hotter then tech or IT. biotech in the last few years has been the top performer
2nd biotech/pharma, which will continue to be this way for the foreseeable future (both drastic ends of the spectrum). Tech also generates a lot of trading volume.
The folks covering biotech/pharma are often former medical professionals. Why they would leave that profession is beyond me
