Internship at BB secured, how should I approach FT AM interview?

Hello everyone,

I have always received quality insights when I came to this forum, and once again I ask for your help.

I recently secured an internship in a BB this summer right after my graduation. I also have an interview for a FT position next month. How should I approach it? Basically, I will be extremely happy if I manage to convert my SI but I know it is not sure that I will. The FT opportunity is then very interesting. I could also do both the internship and then start at the other firm as dates work for me. How should I approach my interview for FT, should I mention my internship or will it play against me as they would think I may convert it or that I am not that much interested to work with them? (The AM firm is quite big, with a strong reputation in the UK, recruiting around 3 graduates per year)

Thanks for your help and have a nice Christmas Break

I don’t see why you shouldn’t mention the internship. It makes you seem a bit more qualified, and helps start a conversation about your goals and what you hope to learn during the internship. I imagine that you would have to accept the full time offer before your internship is over anyway. Just make sure you mention how you excited you are to be getting these opportunities. Old finance people look forward to the opportunity to crush a young person’s spirit over time.

Thank you. Yes, you are totally right about the fact that if I got an offer it would be before the internship. I think I will play it like this and mention the internship as a great way to strenghten my skillset but that it is not my long term objective to work in this field. Any other advice ?
