anyone taken their program?? http://www.ibtraining.com/
i took their self study course after clearing my level 1 and that was clearly waste of money and time. If you are already in finance field, you are better off with some books on amazon. If you plan for level 2, then this course is no precursor; further redundant. I donot know about their live course, but I assume that probably would have some fancy software and some class room problems/exercises. My guess is no body in wall street cares for that course in the current economy (though I might be as well biased ).
Is there a credible training provider of advanced modelling tools like VBA, Macros, Pivot tables related to Corporate Finance. I need to beaf up my technicals skills and possibly save on productivity…Am tired of mannual intervention on my securitisation reports… Any good training provider in Toronto? About IB training? dont pursue it. CFA is enough. U just need the skill sets I indicated above and u will be good to pursue any form of modelling & possibly streamline a lot of mannual works
http://www.amazon.ca/Financial-Modeling-3rd-Simon-Benninga/dp/0262026287/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300309405&sr=8-1 it has decent financial models with some chapters on VBA modeling. Not great only for finance/investments, but pretty good for Excel/VBA. I own a copy.
+1
thanks for the feeback…that was a close call…from their syllabus it seemed interesting but thanks for saving me couple grand! My problem is that I dnt have ANY practical modeling/valuation training…and CFA is my only formal finance education. I will check out the book mentioned above.
you wont be disappointed with the book. you may get tired of solving their EOC problems!!
Toronto CFA: lets but the book and at least hv something to keep our minds live while waiting for the prospectsof hitting L3
there’s an Arzac text on M&A modeling that’s much better for what you’re looking for vs. the Beninga text, which is a bit too general IMO
DO NOT TAKE THE IBI CLASS…what a waste of 2,500!!! Class was OK…they had premade financial modeling sheets that if you get creative can manipulate and make some additions. the teachers just blow thru the material and expect you to know it after each class. I took it last January hoping that employers would see it…but no one cared and when I did mention it I got the typical…great. Post your email address and I will gladly send you the excel sheets and any pdf I have. cheers
its like a thinktank thanks!
