Is it me?.....Probably but

Have you noticed that the number of 65-70 year old white guys (I am white so all of the delicate flowers can relax) acting like d-bags has gone up exponentially. My theory is that all their portfolios are off and they are just now realizing that it is likely they will never live to see a full recovery. (2 examples) 1) I am waiting in line at the grocery store with one item in my hand (soap) while a chick in front of me is returning something to the one and only cashier that is open. The blue hair is behnd me and another cashier opens up. The blue hair has the nerve to move in front of me for the new cashier. Luckily the chick returns her stuff and I check out before the blue hair. As I leave I look at him and say “I beat you” 2) This old guy is making a right hand turn in front of me and doesn’t go even though it is wide open. I don’t honk, wave my hands or anything, but I am agitated. He finally makes his right hand turn at which point so do I. I decide I don’t want to be behind him so I decide to pass him (It’s a six lane road). He guns it as soon as I get next to him and the next thing I know we are going 70 MPH down a street. I back off because I realize how crazy this is and he swerves into my lane, then swerves back three lanes over in order to make his left hand turn. We both stop because the light is red and I start laughing because of what a wack job this guy is. When I drive past him (he was stuck at a red left turn signal) I could swear he was foaming at the mouth from yelling obscenities at me, which made me laugh even harder. Like I said, maybe it is me but I was wondering if anyone else has observed such strange behavior from this demographic?

Yeah, WTF? I had a similar experience a couple of days ago… So I get to my dry cleaner and park next to this 65 yr old guy in his BMW. We both get out of our cars at the same time start walking towards the entrance which is a good 100 feet away. I barely notice the guy and just walk into the dry cleaner at a normal pace. Then I’m standing at the counter waiting to hand the dry cleaner guy my sh!t, and the old guy walks in and is clearly pissed off about something. The guy walks up to me says “Wow, you did it.” I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about so I say “Excuse me?” He says “You beat me in here, good for you that’s really great.” Then the guy just stands there like I’m gonna fight him or something. I was kind of shocked that this guy was calling me out for walking faster than him, so I just gave him a ‘wtf is your problem’ look, gave the dry cleaner my pants and left… This has been bothering me since, trying to make sense of this. I generally haven’t had many people try to pick fights with me, especially not someone from the over 60 demographic.

McLeod, he’s probably just pissed cause he sat for L3 and knows you screwed the curve for him. Just kidding . btw, did you say you work at rwb? buy or sell side? I’m in Mke too.

When I’m at that stage in my life, I plan on being no different than I am now. If anything I wanna be playing video games and crap like that to pass my time. Not be p!ssed off at the rest of the world and doing everything in my power to let them know it.

Yhea, old white guys are a-holes. My wife and I went to a concert recently where they were filming a video. The crowd was encouraged to get up and dance. This old dude 3 rows in front of us starts yelling at a group of girls who are no more than 15 years old in an aggressive tone “sit down!!! I paid for these seats!!! Sit down!!!” I hope to god I am never like that dude.

the life my friends is such… when you will grow old the younger generation at that time may not like your antics… Good thing about the posts here is that none of you reacted too badly to them. they are old(black or white is irrelevant) and do not reconcile to the fast moving life in today’s world. there is an old saying: the flame burns the brightest just before extinguishing… so let them be, try to make way for them if you can and dont mind their confrontations…

Both of my incidents happened in the span of three days and it obviously bothered me too. I don’t think I did anything to provoke the behavior but these two guys definitely seemed like they had a chip on their shoulder and were going out of their way to prove something. It’s my own fault for reacting the way I did but I thought the generational parallels were interesting.

I passed a 70 year old lady in the fast lane on the highway this week. She was in the center lane. I was doing 75, she must have been doing 65. Nothing out of the ordinary. I just moved along with traffic. Checked my rearview mirror and she was yelling at me and flipping me the bird. Unbelieveable. I didn’t even swerve around her. I had been in the lane the whole time.

An ignorant thread with ignorant posts by ignorant persons - Like there are not aholes in in ever age / gender / racial demographic? Good to see you all feeling your oats now that your off the training wheels but seems to me it’s to early to declare victory /superiority in life and project yourself with certainty years down the road… I would have expected a l more balanced and reasoned philosophy (and less agression) from a group that apparently has the world by the balls.

^^I just made an observation. I dont think I am superior at all.

i have experiences like that with every type of people not just old dudes but it sure is upsetting and like McLeod my obsessive mind goes over it throughout the rest of the day, wondering what did I do wrong and i just keep dwelling on it. it really sucks and turns a perfectly normal day sour :frowning:

Exactly…I don’t think I am superior either and I don’t think anything I did towards those people would indicate that I feel that I have the world by the cajones. I freely admit that when I wrote my original post I was ticked off however I think anyone would have been in my situation. I agree that every group has it’s a-holes but it struck me as odd that my two experiences came from this group. I gather by your tone that this conversation struck a nerve for whatever reason.

I agree that there are a-holes of all ages. I personally feel it is more jarring when an older person is like that, however. Maybe it is my upbringing - I was always taught to respect my elders, so when they act like that completely unprovoked, it leaves a lasting impression on me.

I am superior to both them and you. Deal with it.

hh: Excellent summation of this thread…and proof positive! your precisely the a-hole that gives us hope for the future

If you can’t catch on to the humorous tone of this thread you are a tool.
