Is it possible to crack CFA L2 in 2 months?

I have not even started studying for Level 2 yet. Had cleared L1 in Dec 2012.

Have been caught up with my job and don’t get much time to study on weekdays (I know I have wasted time over the past weekends, but no point cribbing about it now)

Earlier I had planned to go through the Schweser videos, then the Schweser notes and Ques, followed by CFAI EOCs. Now I know in this time frame it’s impossible to do all this.

Any tips guys?? Would it be possible to crack it this June or should I be realistic and postpone to June 2013?

Any sincere tips would really help as I am feeling kind of lost (few of my friends appearing are already in their Rounds 2 and 3 and attempting mocks)

What strategy should I adopt given the time frame?? Pls help

Its totally possible.

But if you think you wont manage to pass, at least come to give the exam and help lower the total world average so that the others who have studied can pass.

You can also come and give the exam and mark all the answers as A, A, A,A, A…120 times and see if you can pass by luck.

I think they dont refund your money so show up to the exam, write both sessions and leave

I hope i can revise syllabus in 2 months. It is a daunting task itself

Im sorry to say but thats horribly selfish of you.

@OP it will be difficult but not impossible since a lot of people here (me included) began end of jan and have finished/ almost finished their first pass and it has been only two months. You’ll have to put in a lot of time into each topic since you probably won’t get alot time for revision and practice. All the best!

Edit: if you go through the schweser notes you’ll only just finish the readings a few days before the exam… the best strategy would be to go through the videos and start doing as many questions as you can. Practice practice practice!

the exam is structured to be selfish baby, they have to keep a low pass rate otherwise they wont be able to make $$$$. The more people who take the exam and fail will help the people who have put effort. That way its win win for CFAI and the exam takers who’ve put in their hard work.

alisha u finished sylllabus surprise

Concentrate on equity, fra and ethics. If you smash those sections and guess the rest you’ll have a good chance… I’m not sure if there’s enough time to go through all the material and assimilate it all…

Haha nahin… I mentioned almost finished should be done by first week of April… Hopefully O.O

This is probably what Im doing + corporate finance since there appears to be a lot of overlap + derivatives since we covered a lot of the material in school and I find it the most interesting topic.

That should cover roughly 70% of the test

80% accuracy on 70%

33% (guesses) on 30%

Puts me in range of a pass if I am lucky.

I have had the privelege of meeting individuals who studied for a month, using Schweser, and passed the exam with flying colors. It’s a walk in the park if you put in the time and the effort in that last month. Even better in your case since you’re thinking about putting in two!

75 days left before the exam. If you quit your job and put in at least 10 hours a day, I don’t see why not?

I agree with this strategy. Know those 3 topics really well and watch videos on the rest to pick up as much as possible.

I have started with Corp fin… going through schweser notes… watched the first video of CF… kind of felt a waste of time because after going through the video i did feel the need to go through the text as well… so planning to ditch the vids

quitting job to study is not the kind of solution i’m looking at cheeky

I would say not likely if you have a job. Additionally, your job has not given you time to study up to this point so it is obviously at least semi-demanding. Without a job it is possible if this is what you are doing all day.

Of course anything is possible but seems like a waste of time unless you are a genius with a photographic memory.

This may be the first time I actually agree with one of peter wood’s comments. I’m all for helping people do their best on the exam, but if it’s a lost cause - take one for the team.

If you are a member of MENSA.

As a matter of fact… I actually AM a member of Mensa cheeky
