Jobs for Non-Finance Degree Holder (Eligible for CFA Work Experience Credits)

Hi Everyone,

I need some career advice from those wiser than myself.

I hold a psychology degree and graduated in 2012. Didn’t realize my passion for business and finance until my senior year, so have been pursuing CFA as my first finance credential. Passed Level I and sitting for Level II.

I currently work in Shanghai as the editor of an Asian business magazine focused on foreing direct investment in the region.

As I am 26, it is time to start getting the work credits for the CFA designation.

My question is: If I move back to the U.S., what are realistic career options (that fulfill the CFA work experience criteria) for someone without a degree in finance or economics?

I would greatly appreciat any thoughts you might have.

Thanks!

Investor relations or something along those lines is an obvious choice based on your current experience.

Your best bet is to become a licensed financial advisor and start selling.

Thanks AfricaFarmer and JBrowntown for your insights… both seem like good options. I hadn’t considered investor relations before, but that does sounds like an obvious choice.

Thanks for the help,

Collin
