Jobs in Orlando / Tampa

Hi all

I graduated from undergrad in 2011 (2 years of work experience) and I just took the Level 3 exam in June. Currently I’m working in NYC at a bulge bank in a Middle Office role, but I’m looking to move down to Florida in the Orlando or Tampa Bay region to be closer to my long term girlfriend.

Any suggestions on where to begin a job search. I would like to get into a fixed income research analyst role, but am really struggling to even get a first round interview call. Would you advise that I instead search for a Middle Office role? Any specific firms other than Raymond James (I’ve applied to several positions, but no response).

I appreciate any insight!

I think that there isn’t too much securities research that happens in Florida.

The majority of the CFA-type opportunities that I’ve seen in that part of the world are related to Private Wealth Management, for clients in the U.S. and latin america.

^ Yep. There’s a bit of FO work that is Lat Am focused that is in Miami, and Deutsche Bank has a decent sized operation in Jacksonville, but that’s really all that comes to mind.

I went to high school in Florida and quickly found there aren’t really a lot of finance jobs there.

Raymond James…
