He is great. I have one of his central booking IDs ha I realized how uniquely artistic types act when I went to a boarding high school with a lot of people who were “art” majors . Kevin Gates reminds me of those people but with much grittier upbringing. It’s a pretty hilarious combination of the artistic personality and crack dealer . I’ve known a few people like him, but his success surely amplifies those traits

Wow listening to the album now and its a lot better than most of the trash being released in hip hop now. I had only previously heard the single 2 Phones which I thought was pretty bad, pleasantly surprised by this. Thanks for the heads up.

There’s one other one I’m drawing a blank on that’s different from the others but really awesome. Anyhow, he’s killing it an 100% better than most of what Hip Hop’s become.
Ill check them out. You are right about this being significantly better than most current hip hop. If I have to hear one more song with Future on it sounding like a drunk person with their mouth full of marbles heavily auto tuned I will slip into a deep depression.
Yeah you can’t get much better than Kevin Gates if you want “gangsta” music. He’s not as cerebral as a Kendrick Lamar but still good. He’s great at story telling Yeah, central booking is what they call it in Baton Rouge. He raps about it a few times. I lived in Baton Rouge for a few years and… just happened to come inti possession of it. That and witnessing a buddy try to sell a stolen lil wayne platinum album back to Wayne at a concert are the closest I’ve gotten to rap stars lol
Not really as hyped on Kendrick as most people. I literally can not stand his voice and it ruins his music. Everyone was all over his nuts for TPAB but I didnt think it was nearly as good as GKMC.
Kendrick has some slick rhymes for sure I just dont care for his flow. Ill still take Kanye’s MBDTF or College Dropout over either.
