I’m not starting until early January. How many of you studied >6 months for L1? That just doesn’t sound realistic to me.
My gameplan: Start first week of October with CFA text (which arrived yesterday) Let my work pay for the Schweser materials when they become available Write out all EOC questions and keep for review Use QBank more for ongoing reviews than as I final month studying tool Finish the CFA text by the begining of March Review with Schweser notes, EOC notebook, flashcards, etc. Still deciding on whether to take a weekly class (I did so with Boston’s local analyst society for LI; found it very helpful but relatively expensive) That’s as far in detail as I want to go now, especially at this early point.
starting in december

It’s all relative. Time to prepare depends on your background, family obligations (world of difference if you are single vs married with two young kids), work pressure, etc. You just gotta do what works for you.
I plan to start sometime in November. Used Stalla Enhanced System for L I (supplemented w/ CFAi end of ch problems/samples/mocks and Schweser Mocks). Passed >70 in all sections. Will likely use the same resources for LII. You know what they say, if ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
starting in October
Some of you are starting now ?? Look at f2d, he studied for Level 2 in just 2 weeks… lol http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,964032,page=1

You just hit it right on the nail, jrozario. Buehrle’s curveball out of the freakin’ park.
Guys, Is this strategy wrong? I plan to start studying next Monday and pretend that the L2 exam will be schedule for December 20th. This way I can cover the entire material once and see where I stand. I will take a 3 or 4 week break and start studying Mid Jan or early Feb. By May 1st, I will start taking mocks and brushing up on weak areas. I just want to do everything humanly possible to pass on the first try. Your input is appreciated.
I might start in September. I spent about 450 hours for L1 and got only 6 of the sections in the above 70s. And I was jobless then so I had time to study in the day. Now, hoping to have a job soon that would eat up my time in the day, considering starting early so I’ll have more evenings to use for studying…
I’m humble and realistic enough that I can’t do this by studying for 2 weeks. No offense at all, but f2d study time is not even a data point for me since he’s such an outlier. charu_mulye Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Some of you are starting now ?? > > Look at f2d, he studied for Level 2 in just 2 > weeks… lol > > http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,96 > 4032,page=1
Starting in October… I’ve mapped out a study plan to give me about 500 hours of study…about 150 more than what I felt I needed for my Level I studies…
Definitely after my 1-week vacation in October, and no later than Christmas.
I’m planning to start in December, but will probably use November to map out a study plan and get back into the zone.
