Least Douchey Luxury Sedan

2004 Yukon Denali, 160k miles, with a Romney/Ryan sticker. Come at me, bro.

Truck nutz?

My main vehicle is a 4Runner and my wife also has an SUV. The Jetta (or whatever I end up doing) is just an easier vehicle around town and better on gas. Any snow at all and I’m in the 4Runner.

Most douche brand = BMW

My brand of choice = Audi. I own an A4 and the 2.0T engine is a workhorse. Not to mention you can easily play around with the car to make it A LOT faster and aftermarket support is great. As well, for those that like to work on their cars themselves, VW/Audi tend to a little easier than their German counterparts… at least in my experience

Well, VW and Audi use the same engines in many models, and reprogram them to get different power based on the car model. So, a lot of after market shops will sell you some kind of flash drive that you insert in the car and it becomes more powerful like magic. Of course, you will probably void any remaining warranty.

Other companies do this as well. However, given VW’s large scale, it is particularly advantageous for them to share engineering resources across many model lines.

I think Audi is quickly becoming the most douchey luxury brand due to the “less douchey than you” attitude that Audi owners shove down everyone’s throat.

True ballers give zero f’ucks. I just bought a Hyundai. It’s tits.

Hyundai’s still have a stigma associated with them due to where they were 15 years ago, but I’m a big fan of what they’re doing right now. Not really breaking news here, but the South Korean’s have sort of become the Japanese of the 1980’s in the engineering/manufacturing realm. I’d proudly buy a well apportioned Hyundai if I weren’t obsessed with big, rear wheel drive American sedans.

If I had to buy one upscale car today, it would be either Acura TLX 4-cylinder FWD (assuming it is as good as in the reviews), or Volvo S60 Drive-E (despite the stupid name). Both of these brands are desperate for market share and are offering loaded features for at very aggressive prices.

Also, I am not ashamed to say the 2016 Miata is looking good so far. It is the most important sports car debut of the past 10 years. Unfortunately, Mazda has not provided any technical information, particularly what engine will go in the car…

Why would you be ashamed?

Why y’all aint giving no love to Saab?

R.I.P. Saab

Because Miatas are the official car of gay men. Not joking. Google it.

Navigator on Dubs son.

Fxck dat noise.

FTFY

CTS V

I’d take MERC off that list. Old money. Sagging brand identity. Me-too looks with lots of faux styling accents. A once great car company that has lost it’s focus. It’s becoming the Cadillac (80s era) of Germany. Old Cadillacs are hip, but…

I’d put BMW at the top and Audi right behind it. Both companies have solid brand identies and cutting edge styling. I favor the former for it’s superior handling and RWD platforms. But clearly, Audi has made huge inroads in the US and their hip, comtemporary designs are winning many converts. Hopefully, one day, they’ll ditch the FWD platform in the larger sedans.

Least douchable? Nothing wrong with arriving in an A6 or an A7.

/end thread

No way Volvo ahead of Acura.

Not a chance Audi is behind Volvo.

And Cadillac at 8? 556HP…lols
