For those that have passed Level 2 right after taking Level 1 in December, what is the recommended order of study since there is a time constraint
So, I wish you had asked this in December. At that point, I would say to order the Schweser materials right after the exam. You can’t get to the CFA Institute materials until about 7 weeks later if you passed.
Assuming you are starting about now, going in the order in the book is fine. Many people will make one change and move ethics to last.
More important is getting through the materials in time to do lots of questions and mocks. Emphasize the CFA practice problems and mocks. Qbank is less useful at Level 2.
Heaviest weighted topics to lowest weighted. My order for the heaviest weighted was FR&A>Equity>Fixed Income>Derivatives>Corporate Finance>Everything else
I didn’t feel comfortable dropping $$ on L2 materials at the time, in the off chance I didn’t pass. I passed with a comfortable margin so in hindsight I probably should have.
Going in order of weight is the consensus, so that is what I will do. Will start with Equity and then FRA. Aiming to have all the material covered by beginning of May, though that may be a stretch. I want to give myself at least a month for mocks/practice.
Thank you for the input guys!
Sequential order is OK.
I went sequentially and similar to L1, I skipped ethics and will start that in April.
Study them in whatever order you like. Each study session stands alone.
