Has anyone bought these books? I have the Current and integrated topics from the March 2009 exam, so I have 45% of the articles already, but considering these are published articles, do you think it’s necessary to buy the two texts containing only articles? With a brief Google search, I was able to find the first few articles. I took the exam in March (I was getting married around that time and only spent two weeks up to the exam studying. Needless to say, it didn’t go so well), and there was a heavy concentration of questions pertaining to the articles. I don’t want to miss out on any information that I might need, but I also don’t want to throw away another $200. I would appreciate anyone with some insight weighing in on this.
It’s probably a good idea to get all the assigned books or prepatory material that will cover all the assigned material. Either of those options will cost money. But hopefully the curriculum won’t change and we can all sell our books to the CAIA 2 newbies for the September 2010 exam.
If i were you i would go for the Schweser study notes that cover the articles (so you got the summary). Its a waste to miss a few questions on the exam just to save a few bucks (the exam is expensive enoug).
Either way (through summary notes via Schweser/Uppermark) or the original readings do get access to the articles. They actually make the course quite interesting and allow for a more comprehensive understanding of events and issues in the AI world.
