Level II Schweser 2009 vs. 2010

Hey I just received the Schweser Level II 2009 books and qbank disc from a friend at work who took the exam back in June 09. I wanted to know if it is HIGHLY recommended to purchase the 2010 books or not? Does much change year over year? I’ll have the CFAI 2010 books to supplement, but I really like how the Schweser books emphasize certain topics and would like to use their curriculum. Thank AF’ers!

thanks Damil!

Use the 2009 one as it is almost similar.

Doesn’t the qbank software quit working after the month of the exam?

I bought schweser, but after uncovering a FAS 106 issue and after numerous posts on study materials I’m going with CFAI to learn and schweser to review. Maybe I’m doing that backwards, but I’m wary using schweser as my main study material. A bit off topic, but wanted to throw that out there.

“Doesn’t the qbank software quit working after the month of the exam?” yes, thats right. Just change the date in windows for some past date and the Qbank will “think” that it is before 2009 exam date. Works for me.

You should do well with this approach… last year this re-taker relied on schweser and Qbank and used the CFAI texts as a review when I got stuck in the notes. Needless to say that was a flawed strategy. Hitting the CFAI texts and the EOC questions this year , everything seems to be clicking so far.
