Listing Pronouns

In correspondence, particularly within the educational sector, I have begun to notice a trend towards listing one’s preferred pronouns in the email signature. This is something I never saw until this year. I find it really helpful for people named Sam, Dana, Lesley, Alex, Fran, Jordan, Jessie, Lee, Pat, Taylor, Quincy, Terry, Val, etc.

BWYF

(he / him / his)

For the first time in my life, I saw it asked on a online job application. If we put they/them, do we get two paychecks? Tanks in advance

What if your preferred pronouns change weekly or daily, as it seems to be the case in many cases?

he/him/his (mon-fri)

she/her/hers (weekends and bank holidays)

You must have the world’s worst thesaurus. Not only is it terrible, it is also terrible.

According to the alphabet people, you have to accept it or you’re a transphobe.

It’s useful.

I never hire anyone with a “preferred pronoun” or a feminist hyphenated last name. These are warning signs, just toss the resume in the trash.

just call them it!
